On 15 May 2025, our institution officially attained university status and began operating under the name VIZJA University. This marks a historic moment in the institution’s nearly 25-year history, confirming the high academic, teaching and organisational standards that have been consistently developed since the institution’s inception. Approval for the name change and the granting of university status was issued by the Minister of Science and Higher Education following the fulfilment of all statutory quality requirements. From now on, VIZJA University operates within the elite circle of Polish higher education institutions, with extensive experience across all levels of education.
University status has specific significance in the academic world: it signifies formal confirmation of competence in conducting research, teaching and awarding academic degrees at the highest level. VIZJA University is currently authorised to award doctoral and postdoctoral degrees in many academic disciplines and offers programmes across numerous first- and second-cycle degree courses as well as single-cycle master’s programmes, which significantly enhances the prestige of its degrees and their recognition both nationally and internationally.
This year also saw the first postdoctoral examination in the university’s history, which is tangible proof of scientific development and the growing role of VIZJA University as an institution conducting its own postdoctoral examinations. This is an important stage in building a research culture and promoting young researchers and new areas of research – key elements for the functioning of a modern academic community.
In parallel with these developments, the university has launched the project “VIZJA Home – A University for Everyone”, which aims to promote accessibility and inclusion within the academic community – in architectural, digital and organisational terms alike. This project highlights VIZJA University’s commitment to creating an educational environment that meets the diverse needs of students, staff and social partners, in line with the principle that a modern university is accessible and open to all.
