The year 2005 marked an important milestone in the development of the university’s academic infrastructure, at that time operating as the Higher School of Finance and Management in Warsaw. The university’s own academic publishing house, VIZJA PRESS & IT, was established, becoming an institutional tool for disseminating research findings, monographs, academic textbooks and collective works produced by the university’s staff and collaborating authors.
The establishment of the publishing house was a strategic decision – it enabled the systematic development of the institution’s publishing output, the growth of the academic community and the strengthening of the institution’s academic identity. Having its own publishing house allowed the university to become independent of external entities and to consistently develop its research activities.
That same year saw the publication of the first issue of the international peer-reviewed journal “Advances in Cognitive Psychology”. From the outset, the journal was published in English and focused on research in cognitive psychology – one of the rapidly developing fields of behavioural sciences. The journal quickly gained recognition within the international academic community, attracting authors and reviewers from various countries. The launch of “Advances in Cognitive Psychology” was of particular significance for the further development of psychology as one of the university’s key disciplines. It was a clear signal that the institution aspired to actively participate in the global academic community by publishing in English and directing its content towards an international community of researchers.
The year 2005 thus marked the beginning of the university’s systematic publishing activities, which developed steadily over the following decades. Currently, VIZJA University Press (previously operating under the names: VIZJA PRESS&IT, Publishing House of the University of Finance and Management, Publishing House of the Academy of Economics and Humanities in Warsaw) is the publisher of five prestigious international academic journals:
