The year 2007 marked a significant milestone in the internationalisation of the university, which at that time operated as the Higher School of Finance and Management in Warsaw. The university was awarded an extended Erasmus University Charter, which enabled it to participate in the European academic mobility programme and to develop cooperation with international partners. Holding the Erasmus Charter signified compliance with the European Commission’s quality standards and readiness to facilitate student and staff exchanges. This was a significant step towards building the university’s international presence and integrating it into the European higher education area. In the years that followed, the programme became one of the key tools for internationalisation – both in terms of mobility and teaching projects.
That same year saw the publication of the first issue of the academic quarterly “Współczesna Ekonomia”, which has been published under the English-language title “Contemporary Economics” since 2011. From the outset, the journal was peer-reviewed and international in scope, publishing articles in the fields of economics, finance and management.
In the following years, the university’s publishing activities were systematically expanded to include new periodicals, which were eventually incorporated into international indexing databases, further increasing the visibility of the university’s academic output and strengthening its position as an active centre for research and research collaboration.
The year 2007 demonstrated that the university’s development was proceeding along two parallel paths: opening up to international cooperation and strengthening its own publishing potential. This marked the beginning of the systematic establishment of the university’s presence within the European and global academic community.
